| | The fourth ROAPE Conference on the theme of Popular Struggles In Africa was organised in collaboration with the Centre of African Studies at the University of Liverpool and was held from 26-28 September 1986 in Liverpool. More than 200 people attended and almost 70 papers and presentations were delivered. The most striking feature of the conference, which was a major factor in its success, was the large number of Africans who attended. In part this was made possible by a generous grant from SAREC in Sweden and additional financial support by the British Council and OXFAM. |
