Ernest Wamba dia Wamba is a history lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam. In December 1981 he returned for a family visit to his home country, Zaïre, and was then detained for some weeks. However, though released from prison, the Zaïre Government will not allow him to leave the country again to resume his teaching and to re-unite with his family in Dar es Salaam.
