Abstract of Debate
Title:Comment on 'Relations of Production, Class Struggle and the State in South Africa in the Inter-War Period'
Author:Duncan Innes
Location:Vol.6 No.15/16 (Winter 1979), pp144-146
Comment on Kaplan's analysis, of Innes and Plaut's earlier critique of Davies' article (see links to all three, below). Kaplan's article has two parts. The first raises empirical objections to our analysis. The second re-works the Davies et al article so as to try and overcome some of our original objections while still operating within the same basic theoretical framework - the Poulantzian starting point which was our prime target.
