Abstract of Review
Title:An Introduction to Political Economy by Michael Sefali
Reviewer:James Cobbe
Location:Vol.5 No.11 (Spring 1978), pp108-110
Author is Basotho, gained his training in Moscow, and returned to Lesotho shortly after independence. He has 'tried to explain in a simple manner some basic concepts of economic theory and problems of economic policy of possible interest not only to university students and academics, but also to all those in Africa, who in their study of the economics of Africa and the alternative paths of economic development in the continent, wish to take account of the Marxist-Leninist approach to political economy' . This is the clearest exposition of the orthodoxy Soviet Marxist-Leninist point of view with respect to economics in an African context known to the reviewer.
