Abstract of Review
Title:Labour Perspectives on South Africa by Wolfgang H.Thomas (ed)
Reviewer:M K
Location:Vol.4 No.9 (Summer 1977), pp111-112
The unionization of black labour to assuage radical black demands and pre-empt a revolutionary situation in South Africa is not a newly conceived tactic. But with the success of the Durban Strikes and the change in the balance of power in Southern Africa, it is currently becoming the main priority for white reformists. This explains the sudden proliferation of books on black labour and black trade unions.
