Title:Some Questions about the Chitepo Report and the Zimbabwe Movement
Author:Lionel Cliffe
Location:Vol.3 No.6 (Summer 1976), pp78-80
The report of the 'International Commission of Enquiry' , April 1976, found that Herbert Chitepo was killed in Zambia by a bomb that was put in his car. This was seen as part of a plot involving the whole of the then leadership of ZANU. The second finding was that this and other killings were a product of internal feuding that was 'tribal' in origin. Josiah Tongogara and Chitepo's bodyguard had been charged with the murder. All the above is questioned methodically and disentangled and situated within the realm of 'disinformation' .
