Stain on Medical Ethics
A serious issue of medical ethics, recently raised in the Lancet is being brought up in countries with different degrees of dictatorial rule where governments have adopted the so called ‘strategy of terror’. In these countries medical doctors worry about the consequences of denouncing of what they have witnessed, for fear of loosing their jobs or, more scarily, of severe ‘exemplary’ punishments.
