Ghana: Politics, Economics and Society (Ray)
This volume, it is claimed, is the first ‘comprehensive book on the politics, economics and society of the Marxist regime in Ghana’ (p.v) which has been the cause of a ‘great deal of mystery and confusion among analysts’ (p.xi). Donald Ray attempts to lift the veil by explaining the coming to power of Flight-Lieutenant Jerry Rawlings and the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) and reviewing the regime's policies between 1981-86.
